Dear Friends of Puppetry,
The tensions created by the wars, politics, wide scale traumas and genuine suffering are felt by us all. How can we continue to hold the attitude of “The world is good” for the children in our lives? I think puppetry can make a major contribution to this ongoing effort!
Recently, a parent who had watched our autumn puppet show, which we performed in an apple orchard, told me, “I felt like I was healing my childhood as I watched it!”
The whole school got to watch this simple table puppet show, later, at an all school assembly. The school administrator told me she most appreciated watching the faces of the older children, who had looked upon this with real wonder and awe.
This sensory rich, delightful puppetry is needed just as much as ever. May all of our efforts bring calm and peace in these turbulent times!
