A Series of Six Free Podcasts by Eugene Schwartz
In 2019, our schools worldwide will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the first school by Rudolf Steiner in Stuttgart, Germany. There is a lot to celebrate, and there will be many ready to share their love of and indebtedness to this unique approach to education. This series of lectures, however, sets its sights on the year after 2019, when celebration gives way to evaluation. We will explore the challenges that the our school movement will meet as it faces its next hundred years. Some of the issues addressed in these six lectures include the role that “hindering beings” play in the life of the our schools; the diminishing role of the Class Teacher; the paradox of enforcing strict media policies in schools filled with routers and screens; the ever-expanding role of fundraising in the life of the school. The podcasts cover a broad range. We will look back to Jesus among the Essenes and Galileo among the cardinals. We will hear what came of a face-to-face encounter between Rudolf Steiner and Ahriman. We will explore the interwoven destinies of nicotine and alcohol and the our school movement, and we will discuss the crucial role of the Pedagogical Section in the schools of 2020. This eleven hour-long series of lectures will be free for registrants throughout the months of November and December. Listen when you can for as long as you like and as often as you wish.
