APO is excited about a contest we have entered for non profits! Hosted by USA Today, A Community Thrives is designed to encourage and fund programs working to solve critical social issues in their communities. Programs with the most votes are judged by a panel and the Gannett Foundation will award one $100,000 grant and two $50,000 grants per category on or around May 28, 2017. We've created a 3 minute video about what we do at APO and it's been accepted! Now we need your help. The voting period begins next week on April 12th. We hope you’ll take a moment each day to vote for us! How this grant contest could help APO: With one of these grants, APO would be able continue building and expanding our nationwide community, and spread the word so that every incarcerated individual in the United States can have access to anthroposophy regardless of their situation. The effects of active participation in the program bring inner freedom, hope, and direction for a meaningful life, whether individuals remain in prison or transition to the larger world.
Voting starts on April 12 and ends a month later on May 12, and all you have to do to help us is vote once a day for Anthroposophical Prison Outreach and spread the word! (Voters 13 years and over are eligible.) We feel this is a unique opportunity to win a substantial amount of funding for our program, advertise our initiative nationwide, and become an even stronger resource for friends, family, individuals and organizations advocating self-education for prisoners. Please vote daily beginning on April 12th, and share our video and goals with your friends and colleagues. Together we can bring anthroposophy to more prisoners around the country, providing hope and direction for a meaningful life.
