In 1912, Rudolf Steiner composed 52 verses which he intended to become a path of ‘feeling self-development’ through awakening the soul’s experience within the cycles of  the year. These verses were so important to Steiner that he prepared the last edition as a  final deed from his death bed.

During World War II while he was interned as an enemy alien, Karl König (1902- 1966),  founder of the Camphill Movement, created 52 meditative illustrations for the Calendar of  the Soul, with the aim of bringing healing light into dark times.

Over the past year, Richard Steel and Deborah Grace of the Karl König Institute have been touring throughout America and Canada, sharing these images in exhibitions and  conferences hosted by Branches of the Anthroposophical Society and Camphill communities. In the more than 70 lectures that he has given, Richard has invited listeners into a new experience of human life within the rhythms of the earth and her seasons and festivals, and within the rhythms of the cosmos. Richard’s work can help us connect with the Calendar of the Soul as a healing medicine – for our lives, for social life and for the being of the earth – which Richard shares was Rudolf Steiner’s intention in bringing this  “inner calendar”.
Join us for the session as we hear how Karl König’s illustrations can awaken our heart experience into what Rudolf Steiner brought with the Calendar of the Soul.
